''Mirror man'' was a 12'' single released back in 1982. But this is not reason for this post.
Reason is on B side of this single.

I made this crossover couple of months ago for our friend Niels over there on the-black-hit-of-space who kindly asked for another contribution for his fan mix of the month.
Remix was published there few days ago and now here also.
I used original and instrumental version (both under 4 min) to create this 9:19 min long crossover.

Don't know why and how but my last post misteriously disapeared from here. I made two re-posts and as far as it looks I must do it again. Before I retry here's Diana Ross.
Oh yes, her probably biggest hit without proper extended version. 12'' offers only something above 4 minutes...single ? don't wanna talk about it. For this crossover I used little bit different aproach. Since I couldn't find instrumental version and original with sound quality close enouh to combine, after few attempts I decided to do it from instrumental and acapella versions. I made extended instrumental at first and than I added vocal from acapella. A lot of cutting and adjusting to create this 7:01 min long crossover.

It's been a long time since I started working on this one....then put it away and finally dig it out to finnish it.
Paul Weller, Mick Talbot, Dee C. Lee and Steve White...only words that I can place by those names are...fantastic, excellent, great, amazing, wonderful etc etc.
Something over 5 minutes version of ''Boy who cried wolf'' came out on their 1985 LP ''Our favourite shop'' (7'' offers standard 3:34 minute long version) and unfortunately that was all.
Official extended or instrumental never came out.
For this crossovers I used album version...results are 3:12 long instrumental and 12 seconds below 9 minutes long...

This is a screenshot made while ''Drive'' was still in process. Like all my crossovers it was donr with Adobe audition and on this screensave you can see Multitrack view with ''Drive'' cutted to pieces and re-arranged. Each of this pieces was manually adjusted. I hope you can get a picture of all the work done.

Like other songs from their fantastic ''Heartbeat city'' LP, ''Drive'' unfortunately wasn't officially published in any extended or remix form. After my last post I was kindly asked to try to crossover ''Drive'' and after a lot of work and problems all the way here's the result...6:35 long version of one of the best 80's ballads...

Back to more usual crossover. This time I made some changes on fantastic 1984 track ''Heartbeat city'' from The Cars. LP with same name we can easily call best of The Cars with hits like ''Drive'', ''Hello again'', ''Why can't I have you''...I still can't decide which one is the best. Well...it doesn't matter anyway.
For this crossover I used album version only and re-aranged finnishes at 8:50.

I was kindly asked to include some more of this oldie, all time instrumentals here and with joy I'll do it.Especially because of one more reason. Hardest to find is instrumental for which you don't know any info. I spend years to dig out melodies I knew all my life simply because I didn't know where to start. Of course, internet makes it much easier these days, but 20...25 years ago when I started collecting all sorts of music, it was much harder.Here's one I made last night. Title was composed by Olivier Toussaint for a french movie ''Un Linceul n'a Pas de Poche'', recorded by Jean Claude Borelly instantly became smash all over Europe. Original is, as you may asume, something over 3 minutes long. I managed to stretch it to 7:14.

For today's post I choose something pretty much different than usual, but still...
Thanks to my parents my musical interests are far more wide than focus on just one style or genre. I remember this track since I was just a kid (track is actually pretty much older than me) and everytime I hear it it brings back nice memories to my childhood.
Excellent score composed by Max Steiner for 1959 movie ''A summer place'' It is one of the most well known examples of beautiful music.

Over the years many different versions were made but this one by Percy Faith Orchestra is my favourite. Original has 2:32 in lenght....crossover 6:08...have fun

I knew their music long before I discovered their name. I knew their name also....long before I discovered that I actually know their music so well. Years passed by and they are still one of my favourite 80's band. ''It didn't matter'', ''Long hot summer''...uf uf...amazing...''The lodgers'', ''Shout to the top''...fantastic...''Boy who cried wolf'', ''You're the best thing''...one better than the other. Sure among their best, one place must be for ''My ever changing moods''.
For this crossover I used acoustic, 3:39 long version (original already exist on 12''). Crossovered...clocks at exactly 7:00...enjoy.

1984 was, is and will be on top of my favourite music years. Something out of space, beyond our understanding happend I guess, and we have so many amazing tracks today. Not many years in pop music history can compare 1984.
One of the alltime greatest for sure is ''Africa'' from Steve Lukather and crew factory. Longest existing original version is 6:02 minutes long (correct me if I'm wrong) while most common and known is album or single version 4:55 long. Exactly that one I used to create this 8:55 long crossover. Have fun.

Just like my dear friends Dreamtime and Chronovisor, I was nicely asked to contribute in The Human League 30th anniversary remix project from Neils of Danish Human League fan-site The Black Hit Of Space, with one more crossover of some Human League less known track.
Chosen one was ''Darkness'' from their 1981 LP ''Dare'' (Human League celebrating their 30 th anniversary by going on a 2007 Dare Tour).
For this crossover I used only original LP version with end at 3:56. Crossover clocks at 8:22. I also made 2 minutes long intro which is integral part of crossover. Here they are...both...intro and full crossover. Have fun....enjoy life.

Here's new link and two more.
As you already know, my crossovers are extended versions, without big changes to original sound of the track. Todays two links are little bit different. I simply added some rhythm to those new age lullabies and now you can use them to make you sleep as well as to wake you up in the morning. Works fine with my two years old daughter.
Rhythm was added just for experiment...over time...maybe I'll make it seriously :)

I almost forgot about this crossover. I made it...hmm...year...year and a half ago. Lately I discovered it on one of my backup CD's. At the time it was made I still didn't name my remixes as ''crossover mix''...so...this one I had to rename.

Original lenght of 4:54 (on 12'' single) is stretched up to 7:09. Hope you're gonna like it. Have fun....enjoy life.

Like many others I discovered Toto after ''Africa'' back in 1982. It was actually impossible not to know them after ''Africa'', ''Rosanna''...etc. Logical move was to look closely to their discography. Than I bumped on 1978 smash ''Georgy Porgy'' with excellent Cheryl Lynn as guest vocal. Of course....with only 5:07 on 12'' or 4:09 on album...it was really little bit to short for me. Here's first touch....7:00 crossover made from album version only.

I really don't know much about The Sundays but somehow I liked this song on first ''sight'' and that's enough. The only available version I found is LP version (of course there's Tin Tin Out remix but that's another subject), and this LP version with 3:54 was little bit too short for me. Rest of the story you can imagine. Crossover ends exactly 3 minutes later.

Duran Duran or Spandau Ballet ? That was the question back on the beginning of 80's. Who has better songs ? Who has better styling ? Better videos ? ...

I couldn't decide it back then and later I didn't even try. So let's leave it as dead race.

Just as title says ''Gold'' became real gold over the years. Highest Billboard hot 100 position was only 27 while LP reached 19 on top 200.

I made this crossover by request from Ivana, a friend of mine who didn't have a chance to listen and enjoy in the 80's (she was too young) but still she recognize it as real new wave anthology classic.

12'' offers 7:12 version which I stretched to 10:05. Have fun.

First time I saw Grace Jones I thought she is not from this world....or from our time. She must be from some other planet or from the future. And I still think the same.
''Inside story'' came out back in 1986. with one of her all time hits on it ''I'm not perfect...''. Even though this one was biggest (only) hit from this LP my favourite is ''Victor...''. I can even say it is the one I would put on Grace Jones Top 10.
12'' version was made by Ben Liebrand but he changed original sound of the track and that's something I'm avoiding in my crossovers. For this one I used 4:42 long album version...crossovered goes up to 7:30.

If you still didn't discover Dulce Pontes, a Portuguese musician, songwriter and singer, here's oportunity to do so.

Excellent voice combined with amazing performance puts Dulce high on my best female vocals list. With ''Cancao do mar'' she climb high on my best theme list as well.

I can't leave out of this story Amália da Piedade Rodrigues who performed this classic back in 1955 and thanks to Dulce a song was reborn in best possible way.

Original LP version used for this crossover ends up at 5:15. You can enjoy it up to 8:33. Lyrics included in file properties. Have fun...enjoy life.

Year is 1982...80's on their very beginning. There was something special in the air...a lot of great stuff on the way. After Girls on film, Planet earth, Careless memories from their previous 1981 LP simply called ''Duran Duran'' we were already spoiled with spectacular videos, waiting for the next to come.
''Rio'' was proof that it wasn't just a one time occasion.
I already posted one crossover from ''Rio'' and here's another one.

Hello musiclovers....

What to say about Kajagoogoo ? Probably one of most unusual names for a band in music history. Writing out the of a baby's first sounds gave them "GagaGooGoo". With a little bit of "casual" alteration it became Kajagoogoo. Similar change happened with Christopher Hamills name...lead singer more known as Limahl.

Band known as Kajagoogoo existed only from 1981 - 1983 but that was enough to reach No. 1 on UK charts and No. 5 on Billboard hot 100 with ''Too shy'' from their 1983 LP White Feathers. For this occasion I choose ''Ooh to be ahh'' mostly because of synthesizer intro on the beginning. I used album version and The Construction Mix from 12'' single.

Hello friends...
When we mention Double (pronounced Doo-blay...according to Wikipedia), probably most people will remember The Captain of her heart...their biggest hit. Like in many other cases my favourite song is usually not the biggest hit.
I get this 7'' vinyl after a long search for nothing....from a guy who'll never know that I was ready too pay double zeros for it :)...I guess I was lucky. Single contain Piano and Edited version both below 4 minutes in lenght. For this crossovers I used also Album (piano) version which appeared on second and last, full lenght album ''Dou3le'' from 1987.

Six days without post...uf uf...too much. I apologise for delay...last days I'm pretty much short with time.

One of my favourite songs from HUMAN LEAGUE for sure is ''Human'', from their 1986 LP ''Crash''. Song was written and produced by...to me NO. 1 producing duo of all times, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.

For this crossover I used accapella, instrumental (available on 12'') and album version. Song was published on 7'' single as well.

Official 12'' extended ends up at 5:03...this crossover at 8:50.

Hello again.

I've been busy last days making this crossover requested by our dear Marlene from Cygnet Committee. Although there's enough material for 10 min. remix , I decided to stop at 6:42 which is aprox. 2 min more than original LP version used for this remix. This way remix sounds like a classic extended version...not too long and not too short.

As usual comments are more than welcome and highly appreciated.

I don't know where or to whom exactly to give credits for this amazing track....to Giorgio Moroder who produced it...to David Bowie for performance...or to Dreamtime for this excellent, long play remix. Maybe best...to all of them.
Released on soundtrack for 1982 blockbuster ''Cat people'', as well as on 12'' and 7'' singles. I used to play it a lot in club I worked in late 80's (D.J.) and it was quite amazing how people reacted on it for several years.

This time something completely different. Beautiful new age from 1985 DAVID LANZ & PAUL SPEER LP ''Natural states''. It took me almost 20 years to find out and find this extraordinary track (it's hard to search when you don't know anything about it...I believe many of you know how it is).

Original album version used for this remix clocks at 3:21. It was too short for me and I had to do something. Here's 8:58 long crossover I can listen again and again...hope you're gonna like it too.

''...I fall to my knees at your beauty...'' says Marc Almond in this masterpiece. Re-discovered after long time and a finger of dust over it, I couldn't resist not to crossover it.

Song was published on Marc's 1991 LP ''Tenement Symphony'' as well as on 7'', 12'' and Maxi-Single CD. For this remix I used original album version and Grit and Glitter Mix available on maxis. Result is 10:07 long Crossover mix. What more to say but...enjoy.

This time I made some changes on BLACK'S ''Wonderful life''. Same story as on previous posts...only classic 7'' (12'' has same version) or album version available (correct me if I'm wrong). This time my Spanish friend Alejandro asked for extended version and here it is...6:46 long crossover mix. Original sound wasn't touched, only lenght. Only album version was used in making this one...have fun.

Released 07. May 1984. on their LP ''HYSTERIA'', ''Life on your own'' become my favourite song from this LP. ''The Lebanon'' and ''Louise'' were probably much bigger hits but that's exactly the reason why I liked ''Life on your own'' much more.

For this crossover I used original album and 12'' extended version. All together I made 3 different versions. Here is last, v 2.0, 8:08 long version. Made from fun...just for fun.

There's nothing I can type about Michael Jackson that you already don't know. Best selling album of all times from one of the best producers of all time, Quincy Jones.

I can't imagine ''Thriller '' without excellent voice of Vincent Price and a laugh that scares the s... out of me first time I heard it (I was just a kid then).

Here's my crossover on this...well...real classic now. I used original album version, instrumental, audio from well known video and part of voice over session from Michael Jackson and Vincent Price. Due to different audio sources, sound is not HI-End perfect but I hope you can overlook this and still enjoy in 9:41 long Dodi's crossover.

Original album version used in this crossover ends at 4:44. Unfortunately IMAGINATION didn't provide us extended on 12'' so nothing else left to do but ''crossover''. Hope you'll like this 6:25 extended.

Here I ''crossovered'' David Bowie's-Modern Love...great track from 1983's LP ''Let's Dance''. Song was written and performed by David Bowie...as a producer stands another great name, Nile Rogers.
In this crossover I used only original album version. Original sound wasn't changed, only lenght, and now ends up at 6:13.
